AGM

Image Makers Association Australia invites all members to attend the 2025 Annual General Meeting, chaired by committee member Brett Boardman. This members-only event is an opportunity to connect, reflect, and contribute to the direction of future IMAA initiatives.

This is a free event for IMAA members only. You may attend in-person or via Zoom.
*To support and encourage open and candid conversations, the session will not be made available for later viewing, we encourage all members to attend live and take part in the discussion.

Special thanks to LIFE Architecture and Urban Design for generously hosting us on their rooftop at the Craftworks building.

In-Person Attendance:
Please arrive by 2:50pm to be escorted to the meeting room. This area is in a secure part of the building and cannot be accessed without assistance so please arrive on time.

IMPORTANT - As we need a quorum (minimum number) of Members to proceed with the meeting, please ensure that you attend if you've indicated you are going to or advise us via email on info@imagemakersassociation.com.au if circumstances change.

Proxy Voting

If you’re unable to attend the AGM, you may nominate another member to vote on your behalf. Complete the proxy form and email it to info@imagemakersassociation.com.au

Forms must be submitted at least 24 hours before the AGM start time to be accepted.

Panel Discussion - Image Licensing

Immediately following the AGM, we’re excited to host our first panel discussion and open member forum, chaired by IMAA photographer and educator Michelle Williams.

We’ll be diving into explore key topics in commercial image licensing and the challenges around usage, negotiation, and protecting the value of creative work. With a strong panel representing a range of industry perspectives, from photographers to producers and agents, it’s set to be an insightful and practical conversation.

Confirming our panel line up:

  • William York from Edgely Street - William launched his talent management agency in 2000 and represents photographers & stylists in Sydney.

  • Amber Sinclair - Amber Sinclair is Executive Producer at Lynton Crabb Photography. Over the past 20 years, Amber and Lynton have delivered iconic images for some of Australia’s largest residential and commercial property projects and advertising campaigns.

  • Andrew Richey - IMAA Mentor, Founding Member and Commercial Photographer. Andrew has a versatile practise that includes commercial advertising, fashion, beauty, portraiture and innovative artistic projects.

  • Sam Lee from Tomboy - Having produced campaigns for over 15 years with both Australian and international artists, Sam will climb any amount of trees to get the job done. Tomboy produces photography and high end motion content campaigns of any size, in any city.

  • Sharyn Cairns - IMAA President, Founding Member and Commercial Photographer. Sharyn is recognised for her enduring work across interiors, food, travel, and lifestyle.

2024

Image Makers Association Australia’s 2024 AGM took place on Friday 6th September at Craftworks Melbourne and was chaired by committee member Brett Boardman. The meeting followed the Agenda outlined below.

5. General Business - Open Discussion with IMAA Members.

AGM AGENDA - NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS + 2024 MILESTONES

The AGM covered the formal requirements of running a member based association including Committee nominations and elections. Voting on the roles of President, Treasurer and some general committee roles took place also.

The AGM provided IMAA members the opportunity to hear, in more detail, the work that has been carried out over the past 12 months by the committee and other members; the objectives and milestones IMAA has achieved for members and image makers as a whole; as well as some changes and resolutions in mind for IMAA in the future.

It was an opportunity for all of us as IMAA members to communicate with each other, to express our ideas and have questions answered.


2023
