Sacred Matter - PETER CLARKE

Captured on Kulin Nation of Peoples

Sacred Matter is a moment of reflection and calm in a busy contemporary world.

Captured from a ‘Chapel’ component from a small entry Canopy for Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in St Albans, Victoria. The Chapel is conceived from a black-oxide formed concrete, where pine logs of various sizes have been used to cast a tactile, hand-proportioned relief into a curved grounding wall during the sequence of arrival and departure from school. Overhead Light through the form of a circular skylight is used to transform the space as the sun moves across the sky during the day, connecting students, visitors and parents alike to a visceral and emotive experience - [a moment in time] - to reflect on life and and faith [of all kinds].
